Ever stop to think about how your relationship to sweets was formed when you were a child?

Did you get sweets as a reward when you were growing up? Do you reward yourself, or comfort yourself with sweets now? If so, it’s not too late to change that.

Many of my clients have been successful at adjusting their relationship to sweets – it just takes a bit of mindfulness, and a bit of time. The first step to that adjustment is recognizing the pattern and where it comes from.

If you have children, do you reward them with sweets or offer them sweets for comfort?

If you do, it might be time to start re-thinking that tactic. Watch the video for a compelling conversation on these questions, and grab a few gold nuggets of info to include:

  • The recommended daily maximum amount of added sugar for children
  • How to read nutrition labels for sugar (it’s not as straightforward as it should be)

This is part 1 of a 2-part conversation.  Watch part 2 here.

We welcome your thoughts. Please share in our discussion by posting your comments below.
