Luci Gabel is the founder and owner of LuciFit, LLC, offering premier guidance and training in fitness, nutrition and wellness for individuals and groups – in person, in corporate settings and virtually, online. Luci has worked alongside bodybuilders and ballet dancers, and she’s helped all types of clients from people with diabetes, arthritis, osteopenia, and sciatica, to those with post operational joints; from triathletes to cancer survivors, even cancer survivors who are athletes. Their commonality is that they’re committed to make long term, meaningful changes for life.
With a career in the fitness industry of 20 years and counting, Luci has helped hundreds of people get into shape and improve their health, both mentally and physically. Whether working in a gym or speaking to a crowd, her forte’ is that she provides customers and followers with the knowledge to transform their bodies and lives for the better, forever.
The LuciFit, LLC style of personal training combines traditional strength training, cardiovascular training and stretching with important foundations of Pilates and Yoga, for a body-friendly, posture-friendly, core-focused exercise plan. Her fitness and food life-coaching is based on mindfulness and self care. Simplification is key to her busy clients’ success, so she boils down complex concepts into easy-to-understand guidelines and concrete action plans. She offers one-on-one coaching for optimal fitness and health to a select number of clients, as well as an intensive lifestyle change program in her 6-month Executive Fitness Program, and a budget-friendly online course for groups, called MindBodyBlast. Her own fitness accomplishments include a Tae Kwon Do black belt from Seoul, Korea, triathlons in Hawaii, Physical Mind Pilates Instructor Training in Honolulu, and yoga and meditation studies across the country.
Luci has been a consultant and manager for several, prominent five-star clubs and spas around the world. In Seoul, South Korea, she was the director of The Point, a five-star U.S. government-funded health and fitness club. From the U.S. Department of the Army, she received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service for leading The Point to its first profitable year. In Hawaii, she directed the personal training department at the Honolulu Club, the premier fitness center on Oahu. At the Honolulu Club, her staff training and new service offerings led the department to higher profit margins. Luci consulted for SomaFit Fitness/Spa, a Washington, DC start-up that grew to a five-star facility under her management in only two years. SomaFit won multiple awards and received national press from periodicals such a Yoga Journal, Pilates Style and American Spa.
Luci holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland College Park, an Master’s in Business from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Physical and Psychological health from Binghamton University. She went through the 4-year Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of Maryland College Park (which she begun at the University of Hawaii, Manoa). She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist and by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Personal Trainer and a Health Coach.
